Wanda L. Martin, 74 of Washington, died Saturday, October 27, 2007 at the Washington Care Center following a lengthy illness.
Funeral Services have been set for 2:00 PM Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at the United Methodist Church in Washington with Pastor Julie Poulsen officiating. Burial will be in the Brighton Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will begin at Noon Tuesday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with family receiving friends from 6-8:00 PM. A memorial in the name of Wanda L. Martin has been established to Hospice of Washington Co.
Wanda was born October 12, 1933 in Brighton, Iowa the daughter of Raymond Ellis and Lovina Lydia (Galles) Walton. She was united in marriage to Freddie E. Martin on November 1, 1952 in Washington, Iowa.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Washington and was employed by Ross Manufacturing, Winga Restaurant and Crane Manufacturing.
Survivors include her husband Freddie of Washington, sons Fred Martin and wife Vivian, Glen and wife Irmtraud, Tony Martin and wife Cindy, and Danny and wife Angie, all of Washington; sisters Dorothy Curtis and husband Clair of Crawfordsville, IA and June Evanovich and husband Louie of Florida; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Arlene Sanger and an infant brother and sister.
