A private family memorial service will be held at a later date for 49 year old Virgil L. Kerschner of rural Washington. Virgil died Friday, September 25, 2009 at his home following a sudden illness. The body has been cremated.
Virgil was born on August 15, 1960 in Kansas, the son of Virgil and Peggy Lee Weir Kerschner. He was united in marriage to Susan Cox in Wapello, Iowa. Virgil was employed in production at Tyson in Columbus Jct, IA, for 19 years. He enjoyed fishing, camping and grilling.
Survivors include his wife Sue of rural Washington, three sons, Lawrence Tower of Peoria, IL, Scott Tower of Tuscan, AZ., James Tower of Davenport, IA, one daughter, Lourie Tower of Washington, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Preceding Virgil in death were his parents, one grandson and one granddaughter.
A general memorial fund has been established and donations can be sent to the Beatty Funeral Home, Washington, which is handling his arrangements.
