Viola Vesta (Yoder) Schlabach was born April 26, 1922 the daughter of Edward and Anna (Ropp) Yoder. Viola passed away peacefully in her home from complication s of lymphoma cancer at the age of 88 years, 9 months and 7 days.
She was baptized in her youth and was a faithful member of the Amish church at the time of her death. Viola was united in marriage to Jacob A. Schlabach on June 10, 1948.
Viola is survived by her nine children, MaryAnna Gingerich of Kalona, Abe Schlabach of Tipton, IA, Miriam (Lloyd) Hochstedler, Edward Schlabach (Ida) all of Kalona, Celesta (Harold) Miller of Crofton, KY, Chris (Elizabeth)Schlabach, Henry (Fannie Ellen Schlabach, Edna (Leslie) Miller all of Kalona, Alma (Herbert ) Miller of Walhonding, OH, 61 grandchildren and 65 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Edna Yoder of Crofton, KY, Dorothy (Eddie) Miller of Kalona, four brothers, Chris (Eldora) Yoder of Kalona, John Edward Yoder, of Donaldson, IA, Alton (Susie) Yoder, and Marvin (Elizabeth) Yoder all of Crofton, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob(5/15/1993), her parents, a son-in-law Rudy Gingerich (9/4/2003), five grandchildren, Joyce Hochstedler(8/27/1991), Merwyn Schlabach (7/7/2002), Kermit Gingerich (5/10/2005), and two still born children, one great grandchild (still born), three brothers, Thomas, Lewis and Sylvanus Yoder, one sister, Lydia Anna Miller and two sisters-in-law, Mildred Yoder and Fannie Yoder.
The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation for the many prayers, and acts of kindness shown to them during this time.
