Mrs. Koehler was born February 13, 1921 in Albia, Iowa, the daughter of George and Edna Mae (Connett) Stokes. She graduated form Albia High School and moved to Washington, Iowa with her family in 1938. She married Marion Marshall Koehler in Fairfield, Iowa on April 18, 1940. She and her husband lived in Davenport, Iowa until 1944 and then moved to Washington when he enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II. In 1952 she and her husband purchased and moved to their farm southeast of Washington, near Crawfordsville. In 1990 they moved from the farm to Crawfordsville.
Pat was a member of the United Church of Crawfordsville, a charter member of Log Cabin Questers, Crawfordsville Legion Auxiliary and The Community Club. She did much more than her share at making a go of the family farm, putting in countless hours of doing field and livestock work along side her husband, and still finding time for gardening and of course cooking wonderful meals for family and friends. Later, after moving to town, she especially enjoyed collecting antiques, doing needlework, and hand crafting beautiful quilts.
Survivors include her husband, Marion ‘Marsh’ Koehler of Crawfordsville, a daughter, Marsha Koehler of Iowa City, a son, Craig and wife Rachel Koehler of Washington and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Pat in death were her parents, one sister, Emma Marshall, and a daughter in law, Nancy Koehler.
