Tony Lee Martin, 48 of Washington, died suddenly of an apparent heart attack Monday, September 15, 2008 at the Washington County Hospital.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, September 18, 2008 at the United Methodist Church in Washington with Pastor Julia Poulsen officiating. Cremation will follow the service and private family burial will be in the Brighton Hillcrest Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will begin at Noon Wednesday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with family receiving friends from 5-8:00 PM. A memorial in the name of Tony Lee Martin has been established for his children.
Tony was born January 11, 1960 in Washington, Iowa the son of Freddie E. and Wanda L. (Walton) Martin. He graduated from Washington High School in 1980 and was united in marriage to Cindy Beenblossom on November 2, 1985 in Washington.
He was employed with Zieglowsky Landscaping for twenty years and mechanic at Melody Lanes Bowling Alley for the last eight years. He was a member of the United States Bowling Association and enjoyed camping, bowling, hunting, watching his son’s sport activities, working at his brother’s shop and meeting new people.
Survivors include his father Fred of Washington, wife Cindy of Washington, three sons Shawn, Tad and Zach all of Washington, brothers, Fred Martin and wife Vivian, Glen Martin and wife Irmtraud and Danny Martin and wife Angie, all of Washington.
He was preceded in death by his mother on October 27, 2007.
