Thelma Ilene Farrier, 81 of Washington, died Monday, May 7, 2012 at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington.
Funeral Services have been set for 2:00 PM Friday, May 11, 2012 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington, with Pastor Kitch Shatzer officiating. Burial will follow at the Sandyhook Cemetery. Visitation will begin at Noon Thursday at the Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 4-6:00 PM. A general memorial in the name of Thelma Farrier has been established.
Thelma was born March 10, 1931 in Brighton, Iowa the daughter of Clarence and Ethel (Hesseltine) Van Winkle. She graduated from Brighton High School and was united in marriage to Dean Farrier in Brighton on June 12, 1951.
She was a baker at Safeway in Council Bluffs for nine years and was a homemaker. Her passion was gardening.
Survivors include her husband Dean of Washington; daughters Connie French of Wiesbaden, Germany, Sandra Farrier of Pensacolo, FL and Karen Kofron and husband Jim of Washington; siblings Debbie Liska, Margorie Rolston, Mary Newman, Jerry Edfors, Ronnie Edfors, Francis Morrow and Bobby Morgan; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and infant twin son and siblings David, Guy, Peter, Howard, Francine and Martin.
