She was raised by her mother, Elizabeth and step-father Jerry Mast and her grandparents, John and Sovilla Overholt. Sylvia was married to Clarence Gingerich and later to Richard Jones. Sylvia was employed in various places as a cook and baker. She had worked at one time at the Kalona Sales Barn in the lunchroom. Sylvia returned to this community three years ago and had attended the Assembly of God Church in Washington. Surviving Sylvia are her son, Doyle Gingerich of Kalona, three sisters and husbands, Rose Aguilar of Bath MI, Sovilla and Bill Krochak of Washington, IA, Anna and Ken Overmyer of Shipshawanna, IN, and two brothers, Jerry Jr.and wife Maggie Mast of Millersburg, IN, and John and wife Carolyn Mast of Milford, IN. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Richard Jones (1995) Her family is appreciative of the many acts of kindness bestowed on them during this time of their loss.
