Sydne Maas

Sydne R. Maas, 68, of Marion, died Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at her home in Marion. No services are planned at this time. The Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona is assisting the family.

Sydne Renee Maas was born April 25, 1951 in Miller Hospital in Williamsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Willard A. and Annabelle M. (Holden) Maas. She graduated from Williamsburg High School and received her bachelor’s degree in Industrial Administration from Iowa State University in 1976. She worked in several professional settings in Eastern Iowa during her life, and enjoyed knitting even into her later years. A lifelong learner, Sydne enjoyed reading and keeping up with current events.

Survivors include three siblings: Sydra (Donald) Krueger, Stuart (Marian) Maas, Synthea Jean Maas, many and seven nephews. Her friends at Blairs Ferry Senior Apartments will remember Sydne's monthly Birthday Club attendance and participation in potlucks.

Preceding Sydne in death were her parents: Willard in 1992 and Annabelle in 2003.
