Susan Mae (Yoder) Beachy was born April 6, 1925 near Kalona, Iowa, the daughter of Noah and Ada Yoder.  In her youth she accepted Christ and was baptized in the Old Order Amish Church and remained faithful until death.  She was united in marriage to Glen Everett Beachy on January 2, 1947.  Susan passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 12 days on Sunday, December 18, 2011.

Funeral services will be 9:30 am,Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at the Paul Beachy residence located at 1069 Maple Ave, Kalona.  Visitation will be Monday all day at the Alvin Beachy residence at 2270 150 th St. and Tuesday at the Paul Beachy residence.  Burial will be in the Peter Miller Cemetery, Kalona.

She is survived by her five sons and four daughters, Ruth at home, Roy and wife Elizabeth Ann, Alta (Mrs. Enos) Miller, Paul and wife Rose Mary, Anna Mae (Mrs. Clayton) Borntrager, Joe and wife Salina, Timothy and wife Priscilla, Mary (Mrs. Amos) Borkholder, Alvin and wife Kathryn, all of Kalona.  63 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, one sister in law, Barbara (Mrs. Alvin) Yoder of Hutchinson, Kansas, one step brother, David Nissley of Arthur, Illinois.

Preceding Susan in death was her husband on April 27, 2009, her parents, two grandchildren, one great grandchild, three brothers, Alvin and Simon Yoder and an infant brother Joseph, two sisters, Ruth (Mrs. Tobias) Miller, Wilma (Mrs. Henry) Mast, and step sisters, Irene (Mrs. Henry) Bender, Bertha (Mrs. Edgar) Helmuth and Ellen Nissley.

The family would like to thank everyone for the many acts of kindness shown at the time of her passing.
