A Mass of Christian Burial for Stanley J. Richenberger, 67, of Wayland will be held Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church in Washington with Father Bernie Weir officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Richmond. Visitation will be held from 4 – 7 PM Wednesday, June 5 at St. James Catholic Church. A memorial fund has been established for Hospice of Washington County and Henry County Quilt of Valor. Stanley Richenberger died Sunday, June 2, 2019 at his home in Wayland following a courageous battle with cancer. The Beatty Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Stanley Joseph Richenberger was born December 19, 1951 in Henry County the son of Glen and Geraldine (Keiser) Richenberger. He graduated from WACO High School and served in the United States Navy. Stan was united in marriage to Mary Lou Duwa on June 26, 1976 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Keota. Stanley worked as a stock handler at Metromail in Mt. Pleasant for 40 years. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church enjoyed woodworking, flea markets and collecting trains.
Survivors include his wife Mary Lou of Wayland, two children: Scott Richenberger of Mt. Pleasant and Amy Richenberger of Wayland, his mother Geraldine Rixe of Wayland, two siblings: Michael Richenberger of Wayland, Cindy Richenberger of Wayland, sister-in-law Tracy Richenberger of Kalona, his father’s wife Patricia Richenberger of Mt. Pleasant, and nine brothers and sisters-in-law: Barb (Jim) Munday, Steve (Cindy) Duwa, Dan Duwa, Terry (Susie) Duwa, Cindy (Bill) Wellington, John Duwa, Christine (Kevin) Boyd, Joyce (Brian) Dickerson, Jeff (Jill) Duwa, many nieces and nephews, and special friends: Merritt and Brianna Wellington.
Preceding Stan in death was his father, one brother Duran Richenberger, and his sister-in-law Linda Richenberger.
