Shirley A. Rembold, 83 of Wayland, formally of Washington, died Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Parkview Home in Wayland.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Beatty Funeral Home with Jack Matthews officiating. Her body has been cremated. Visitation will begin at Noon Friday at the funeral home with family recieving friends from 4-6:00 PM. A general memorial in the name of Shirley A. Rembold has been established.
Shirley was born April 27, 1931 in Iowa City, IA the daughter of Clarence Sr. And Marguerite (Schenkle) Conklin. She graduated from City High in Iowa City and was united in marriage to Paul O. Rembold on November 17, 1962 in Kahoka, MO.
She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and employed at the Iowa State Bank and Trust in Iowa City and was also a homemaker. She lived in Iowa City, many years in Washington and the last few years in Wayland. She enjoyed reading, knitting, collecting jewelry and cats.
Survivors include her husband Paul of Wayland, children, Debra Stauffer of St. Louis, MO, Linda Matthews (Jack) of St. Louis, MO, Craig "Weiner" Rembold (Dana) of Washington and Sarah Berndt (Kenny) of Wayland, IA; sisters Laurene Sybil and Marilyn Irvin, both of Iowa City; four grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Clarence Jr. "Bozo".
