Sandra “Sandy” K. DeWolf, 82, of Washington, died Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at Addington Place in Mt. Pleasant. A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 10:30 AM at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. The body will be cremated following the service. The family will greet friends Friday, August 26, 2022, from 4 – 6:30 PM at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington. A memorial fund has been established for St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
Sandy DeWolf was born July 25, 1940, in Washington, the daughter of Clarence and June (Messenger) Griffin. She graduated from Washington High School and in 1959 she was united in marriage to Dean DeWolf in Washington. Sandy worked at a variety of places, including Grandma’s House, Sunflower, and the Calendar Factory. She loved playing Canasta, reading mysteries, watching Murder She Wrote, Dark Shadows, Cheyenne and scary movies.
Survivors include two children: Bill (Sue) DeWolf of Mt. Pleasant, Jennifer (Duane) Miller of Crawfordsville, eight grandchildren: Skyler, Savannah, Dalton, Eric, Jordan, Jeremy, JD, and Austin; six great-grandchildren: Lawson, Quint, Brynn, Kinsley, Wyatt, and Liam, and one brother Roger Griffin of Wellman.
Preceding Sandy in death were her parents, her husband Dean on August 30, 2021, a daughter Sherry Dietrich, four siblings: Doris, Leonard, Nadine and Charles, great-granddaughter Ellie, and her special companion Buddy.
