Funeral Services for 44 year old Saleum A. Brown will be held at 1:00PM, Saturday, Oct 3, 2009 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington. Burial will follow at the Cambrian Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, Oct 2, from noon until 8pm, with the family present from 4 – 8 PM. Saleum Brown died Monday, September 28, from injuries suffered in a car accident. A general memorial fund has been established.
Saleum A. Brown was born October 12, 1964 in Atlanta, Georgia the son of Samuel L. and Julia Robinson Brown. He graduated from Bowen High School in Chicago, IL. On May 19, 1996 he was united in marriage Trudy Jones in Ainsworth, IA. Sal was a heavy machine operator for the DeLong Construction Company for the past 2 years and was a member of the Islamic faith and the Crawfordsville Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, helping his daughters with their 4-H projects and was a very social person.
Survivors include his wife Trudy of Crawfordsville, IA., three daughters, Samiyyah, Aaliyah and Nadiyah Brown all of Crawfordsville, IA., parents, Sammy and Julia Brown of Chicago, IL, two brothers, Sammy Brown, Jr. of Chicago, IL., Alfunzo Brown of Cedar Rapids, IA., five sisters, Fatimah Martin and Khadijah Watkins of Lincoln, NE., Nafeesah and husband Edward Morrow of Chicago, IL., Roquayyah Brown of Chicago, Il, and Lateefah Brown of Lincoln, NE., mother and father in law, J. Allan and E. Marlene Jones of Ainsworth, IA., and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
