Scarff will be held Sunday, November 8, 2009 at 2:30PM at the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church in Wayland with Pastor Nathan Lutjens officiating. Burial will follow at the Sugar Creek Mennonite Cemetery. Beatty Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. . Ryan Scarff died Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at his home. A memorial fund has been established for Ryan's daughters. Ryan was born October 16, 1972 in Mt. Pleasant, IA, the son of Ron and Wendy (Slagel) Scarff. He graduated from WACO High School and attended Southeastern College in Ottumwa. Ryan worked at English River Pellets in Kalona for 13 years and had been working for Freyenberger Construction for the past two years. He was a member of the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding motorcycle, and being with his dog Starsky. Survivors include his parents, Ron and Wendy Scarff of Wayland, IA, two daughters, Mekenzie Bean-Scarff of Ainsworth and Quinn Molander-Scarff of Wayland, one brother, Chad and wife Michaela Scarff of Kalona, one sister Sara Scarff of Austin, TX, paternal grandmother Ann Scarff of Mt Pleasant, IA, a niece, Sydney Scarff and nephew Warren Scarff of Kalona, two uncles, Eric and Kelly (Veronica) Slagel of Wayland and one Aunt, Sharon Scarff of Oklahoma, step niece Madison Collins and Step Nephew Jalen Collins. Preceding Ryan in death were his maternal grandparents, Warren and Vernelda Slagel and paternal grandfather, Ray Scarff.
