A celebration of life for Ryan M. Knepp, 45, of Keota, will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the East Union Mennonite Church in rural Kalona with Pastor Joel Beachy officiating. Burial will follow in the East Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, July 2 from 4 – 8 PM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. A memorial fund has been established for the family's use. Ryan Knepp died Thursday, June 28 at the Serenity Hospice House in Oskaloosa.
Ryan Michael Knepp was born March 5, 1973 in Johnson County, Iowa, the son of Edward and Beatrice (Hershberger) Knepp. He graduated from Iowa Mennonite School. On October 28, 1995 he was united in marriage to LaVerda Coblentz at the East Union Mennonite Church. Ryan was a dairy farmer and also worked at the Kalona Sales Barn. He was a member of East Union Mennonite Church and was a Boy Scout Leader and active with the Deer Creek Ramblers 4H Club. Ryan enjoyed farming, working on equipment, riding dirt bikes and spending time with his family
Survivors include his wife LaVerda of Kalona, six children: Cody Knepp and girlfriend Miranda Clausen of Kalona, Xena Knepp of Keota, Dusty, Gabi, Tobi and Jeorgia Knepp of Kalona, his mother Beatrice Knepp of Oklahoma, five siblings: Randy (Cathy) Knepp of Oklahoma, Lynford (Ami) Knepp of Denmark, IA., Brad (Tracy) Knepp of Arkansas, Darla (Eddie) Trejo of Australia, Jina (Wally) Almquist of Carlisle, IA., a number of nieces and nephews and his father and mother-in-law, Jerry Lee and Lena Ruth Coblentz of Kalona
Preceding Ryan in death was his father Ed Knepp, and three siblings, Diane, Eddie and Jody Knepp.
