Ruby Marie Dempsey

Ruby M. Dempsey, 61, of Riverside, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Her body has been cremated and a gathering of family and friends will be held at the Evangelical Free Christian Church, Highway 18 in Clear Lake, Iowa from 12 - 2 PM on April 29th, 2023.  The Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Ruby Marie (Cobb) Dempsey was born October 19, 1961, in Forrest City, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Maxine (Bower) Cobb. She graduated from Clear Lake High School. Ruby married Vic Fredricks and the couple had two sons: Victor and Jeremy. The couple later divorced. Ruby was employed at Winnebago Industries for 15 years, before moving to southeast Iowa, where she worked at NCS Pearson for 15 years and at the Riverside Casino for the past two years. In 1998 Ruby was united in marriage to Dan Dempsey. Ruby filled every room she entered with her spirit and personality and will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband, two sons, her mother, a brother and two sisters.

Preceding Ruby in death was her father and many aunts and uncles.
