Roslyn Rae Chalupa, 82, formerly of Washington, died Monday, April 6, 2015 at the Pleasantview Home in Kalona.
Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00, Friday, April 10, 2015 at the Beatty-Peteseim Funeral Home in Washington with the family present from 3:00-4:00. A graveside service will follow the visitation at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Memorials may be designated to the Pleasantview Home.
Miss Chalupa was born Sept. 23, 1932 to Edward and Cecile (Caldwell) Chalupa. She grew up in the Pleasant Hill community and attended Pleasant Hill country school. She continued her education and graduated from Washington High School.
Roslyn worked as a nurses aide in Washington before moving to Mason City for several years. She worked at the Mason City Hospital until her health forced her to retire, at which time she moved back to Washington. Her greatest joys were her nieces and nephews and raising her small herd of Black Angus cattle. She had been a resident at Pleasantview Home for many years.
Surviving are her sister, Evelyn (Richard) Hayes of Washington, her sister-in-law Rosemary Chalupa of Wayland and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Eugene Chalupa.
