A visitation for Rosemary L. Olson 86, of Kalona, will be held Sunday, July 3, 2011 from 2-6PM with a prayer service at 6PM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona with Father Rich Adam officiating. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Rosemary Olson died Friday, July 01, 2011 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following complications of a stroke. A memorial fund has been established for Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Kalona 1st Responder's. Rosemary Lillian Olson was born September 19, 1924 in Chicago, IL. She was the daughter of Charles and Rose (Kalsch) Jirsa. She attended Holy Trinity Catholic School and Kalona Public School. She was a laboratory technician at the University of Iowa Hospital. On August 17, 1970 she was united in marriage to Warren Olson in Chicago. Rosemary worked as a hostess at the Parlor Restaurant for several years. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and enjoyed cooking and gardening. Survivors include her husband, Warren Olson of Kalona, one daughter, Renee' and husband Jerry Villareal of Plainfield, IL, two granddaughters, Victoria Tucker of Plainfield, IL, Catherine Ann and husband Rex Espinosa of Plainfield, IL and four great grandsons, Ethan and Noah Tucker and Sam and Max Esponisa. Preceding Rosemary in death were her parents, two stepbrothers, Harry Jirsa and Charles Jirsa, Jr., one grandson in law, Christopher Tucker, and her dog and faithful companion, Taffy.
