Rose M. Childs, 79 of Washington died, Saturday, August 20, 2005 at her home following declining health.
Funeral Services have been set for 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington with Rev. Brian Gentz officiating. Burial will be in the Crawfordsville Cemetery. Visitation will begin at Noon Monday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with family receiving friends from 6-8:00 P.M. Memorials in the name of Rose may be designated to Hospice of Washington Co., Sew Day Circle Mission projects, or the Iowa Foundation for the blind.
Rose was born March 14, 1926 in Centerville, Iowa the daughter of Milton Otto and Ethel (Clark) Sager. She graduated from High School and was united in marriage to Edwin Childs on May 10, 1944 in Bloomfield, Iowa.
Rose was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Washington. During WWII she worked at an airplane factory and later at Ross Electric and the Washington Box Factory. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, spending time with family and fishing with her husband Edwin.
Survivors include her son Pat Childs and wife Kathy of Kalona, IA and daughter Judy Mohr and husband Mike of rural Mt. Pleasant; brothers Frank Sager and wife Hazel of Tucson, AZ and Richard Sager and wife Betty of Excelsior Springs, MO; sisters Patty Childs and husband Vance of Tucson, AZ and Velma Newby of San Diego, CA; six grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin January 26, 1995, parents, two brothers William and Kenneth, sisters, Donna and Garnette.
