Ronald Eugene Martin

Ronald Eugene Martin, 73, of Washington, died Saturday, November 2, 2024, at his home.

A memorial service will be at 3:00 PM, Friday, November 15, 2024, at the Beatty-Peterseim Funeral Home in Washington, with Chaplin Don Combs officiating. The American Legion Post #29 will provide military honors. A general memorial in Ronald Eugene Martin's name has been established.

Ron was born on April 7, 1951, to Ralph William and Margaret (Mefferd) Martin. He was united in marriage to Sally Lavonne Spanier, on September 11, 1976, in Washington. He served with the US Army in Vietnam. He was employed as a truck driver in a rock quarry and later at Perfix/Modine for over 20 years where he retired from. He was a member of the American Legion Post #29 and enjoyed hunting, fishing working as a handyman, and was known as a “Jack of all trades”

Survivors include his wife Sally of Washington; son Darren of Richland; brother, Robert of Magnoli, IA; sisters Sina Arbaugh of Magnoli, IA, and Linda; five grandchildren, Dominic, Sabrina, Deserea, Haylee, and Sebastian.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Dylan, brothers Donnie and Bill, and sisters Cheri Copper, Betty Olviver, and Phyllis Dodd.
