Robert W. Butterbaugh died Friday, June 3 at Washington Care Center, Washington.  He was formerly of Wellman.

His body has been cremated and there will be no services.

Robert Wayne Butterbaugh was born Sept 27,1930, the son of Wesley and Carrie (Rowe) Butterbaugh.

Robert lived in Wellman,(Daytonville aea) his entire life.  He was of a quiet nature.  As a young student, he received Washington County School System awards for the most books read. As a young teenager (14 years old), Robert worked for Maplecrest in the sack-house cleaning and repairing burlap sacks to be reused by the company.   After the war, he worked seasonal for Maplecrest in both Wellman and Kalona.

Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising rabbits, gardening and all things of nature.  In his later years he enjoyed walking, playing cards and watching game shows.  For many years Robert was a dedicated caregiver for his mother and later for his sister.

He is survived by one brother, Jerry Butterbaugh of St. Augustine, FL. and one sister and husband, Betty and Knight Wagner of Colfax, CA.

A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceding Robert in death were his parents, four sisters, Dorothy Thrapp, Elizabeth Butterbaugh, Helen Adams and Mickey Hohenshell and one brother, Dairld Butterbaugh.
