Richard Conklin

Richard "Dick" Conklin, 82, passed to a quiet peace on Tuesday, December 22, 2009, with his wife and daughters by his side.

Dick was an organ donor and was cremated according to his wishes.  A celebration of life was held in Wickenburg, Arizona.

Dick was born in Kalona, Iowa, the son of Frank and Edith Dawson Conklin.

Dick was a barber in Richland, Iowa for 43 years.  He was a member of the Elks Club, Masonic Lodge, and the Lions Club.  As an avid golfer, Dick was a member of the Fairfield Golf and Country Club, Fairfield, Iowa and the Wickenburg Country Club.  He had a passion for golf, stories, song, dance, life and world travel.

Richard is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Hazel June (Earnest) of Wickenburg, AZ, his two daughters, Deborah (Patrick) Kinney of Oxford, IA and Sally (Alberto) Salazar of Whidbey Island, WA, three incredible grandchildren, David, Sarah and Eric who loved and admired him every day.  Also surviving is one brother, Robert Conklin of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.   His positive encouragement and outlook on life will remain an example to us all.
