Ricardo Ernesto Escobar Zambrano

Ricardo Ernesto Escobar Zambrano, 53, of Iowa City, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022. A private family service will be held. Memorial donations to support the family can be directed to Kimmer Zambrano: 835 Blue Sky Drive, #304, North Liberty, IA, 52317. The Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Ricardo was born June 21, 1969, in Honduras, the son of Mariano de Jesus Zambrano and Ana Carranza. He graduated high school in Honduras and was united in marriage to Yolanda Osorto. He moved to the United States in 2001. Ricardo worked as a forklift operator for Schenker Logistics in West Branch. He was a member of the International Eslin Church in Iowa City. Ricardo was a hard worker who enjoyed singing, biking and spending time with his beloved grandson, Kenji.

Survivors include his wife Yolanda of Iowa City, his son Kimmer (Maggie) Zambrano of North Liberty, grandson Kenji Zambrano, and many family members in Honduras.

Preceding Ricardo in death were his parents, one son Mario Ernesto and a daughter Janina Zambrano.
