Regina Bjorndal

A Celebration of Life for Regina (Hayes) Bjorndal 62, of Grinnell, formerly of Washington, will be held Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at 11AM at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 26 from 4-7PM at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington. A memorial fund has been established for Breast Cancer Research. Regina Bjorndal died suddenly Saturday, October 23 at her home in Grinnell.

Regina (Hayes) Bjorndal was born June 22, 1948 in Washington, Iowa the daughter of Richard and Evelyn (Chalupa) Hayes. She graduated from Mid- Prairie High School in Wellman in 1966. On April 26, 1968 she was united in marriage to Mark Bjorndal in Washington. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Grinnell. She enjoyed working on the computer, antiques and traveling to England and her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband Mark Bjorndal of Grinnell, parents, Richard and Evelyn Hayes of Washington, two brothers, Lloyd (Shelley) Hayes of Washington, Marion (Christine) Hayes of Washington, one sister, Lucetta (Duane) Sobaski of Cedar Rapids, mother in law, Ramona Bjorndal of Sacred Heart, MN, two brothers in law and two sisters in law.
