Raymond Roy Nebel, 88, of Washington, died Thursday, September 19, 2019 at the United Presbyterian Home. A celebration of life service will be held 11:00am, Monday September 23, 2019 at the Eicher Mennonite church in Wayland with Pastor Dave Schooley officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service. An open visitation will be held Sunday September 22, 2019, from 12-5:00 p.m. at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington. Burial will follow the Service. A memorial fund has been established for the Eicher Mennonite church.
Raymond Nebel was born February 26, 1931, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Daniel and Alice (Roth) Nebel. He was united in marriage to Joyce Ann Kleese on December 25, 1951. Ray attended Washington High School. He enlisted into the Navy and later went into the Airforce for 21 years. Ray did everything with his wife Joyce, they enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping together. He also helped his father-in-law farm. Later Ray became very active with the Eicher Mennonite Church.
Raymond is survived by his wife Joyce Nebel of Washington, son Michael (Marina) Nebel of Ottumwa, 8 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, siblings; Milton Nebel, Lorene Meyer, Dale Nebel, Katheryn Stoops, Bill Nebel, and Jimmy Nebel.
