Ray G. Scarff, 78 of Trenton died unexpectedly Sunday, November 9, 2003 at his home in Trenton.
Funeral Services have been set for 10:00 A.M. Thursday, November 13, 2003 at the Trenton Missionary Church. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery in Mount Pleasant. Visitation will begin at Noon Wednesday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant with family present from 6-8:00 P.M. Memorials may be designated to the Trenton Missionary Church in the name of Ray G. Scarff.
Ray was born October 27, 1925 south of Trenton the son of Leslie and Freda M. (Bates) Scarff. He graduated from Mount Pleasant High School and served in the U.S. Army after WW II. On October 17, 1948 he was united in marriage to Anna Engbrecht in Dolton, South Dakota.
He was a long time resident of Trenton and a member of the Trenton Missionary Church. He was employed as a Carpenter and Millwright for Union 410 until retiring in 1987. Ray enjoyed rebuilding cars and in his early years announced races at local area dirt race tracks for MVSC and IMCA.
Survivors include his wife Anne of Trenton; son Ron Scarff and wife Wendy of Wayland. Daughter, Sharon Scarff of Tulsa, OK; brother, Glenn Scarff and wife Delores of Lake Ozark, MO; two sisters, Evelyn Graber of Elkhart, IN and Bernice Callis and husband Mac of Holecomb, AR; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brother-in-laws.
