Ray Jones

December 22, 1942 — January 15, 2007

Ray Jones, 64 of Washington died, Monday, January 15, 2007 at the
Washington County Hospital.

Funeral Services have been set for 10:00 AM Saturday, January 20, 2007 at
the Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Brian Gentz and Chuck Smith
officiating. Burial will be in the Richland Friends Cemetery. Visitation
will begin at 9:00 AM Friday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with
family receiving friends from 5-8:00 PM. A memorial Scholarship for
Paramedics in the name of the Jones family has been established.

Ray was born December 22, 1942 in Keota, Iowa the son of Kermit and Marie
(West) Jones. He graduated from Washington High School in 1961, received
his BA from University of Northern Iowa, graduated from Worsham School of
Mortuary Science and the EMSLRC at the University of Iowa Hospital and
Clinics. He was united in marriage to Ruth Glassel May 8, 2004 at Webster
City, Iowa.

Ray was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, founding member of the
Iowa EMS Association, EMS Hall of Fame recipient in November of 2006,
former member of the Elk Lodge, and Iowa Funeral Directors Association.

He was employed with Eagle Foods as Asst. Manager, Director of Johnson Co.
Ambulance, Funeral Director, Regional Director for Southeast Iowa EMS and
Bureau Chief for the State of Iowa EMS Bureau retiring in January of 2006.

He enjoyed motorcycles, carpentry and being a handyman.

Survivors include his wife Ruth of Washington, son Christopher Jones and
wife Denise of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; stepsons Ray and Justin Cole; brothers
Karl Jones of Flippin, AR and family, Everett Jones and wife Paulette of
Bettendorf, IA and family; granddaughter Bryce Jones and stepfather Delmar
"Bill" Yoder and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother.
