Ray “Pug” Gilbert Hough, 88 of Washington died Thursday, August 10, 2006 at his home in Washington following declining health.
Funeral Services have been set for 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 14, 2006 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with Rev. Timothy Ditweiler officiating. Burial will be in the West Chester Cemetery with full Military rites. Visitation will begin at 3:00 P.M. Sunday at the Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6-8:00 in the evening. Memorials in the name of Ray Hough may be designated to Hospice of Washington County.
Ray was born November 17, 1917 in Washington, Iowa the son of Arthor Lee and Myrtle (Jayne) Hough. He graduated from West Chester High School and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1945 till 1946. He was united in marriage to Stella Belle Thompson November 8, 1938 in Kahoka, MO. She preceded him in death March 1, 2000.
Ray was raised in Washington and West Chester and moved to San Diego, CA moving back to Washington in 1966. He was a carpenter for Bruty Construction until his retirement in 1980.
He was a member of the Federated Church and attended the Methodist Church in West Chester. He was also a past member of the VFW.
Survivors include his son Douglas Hough of Phoenix, AZ, daughter Sharon Hough of Washington and brother Edward Hough of Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sisters Mildred Eyestone and Beatrice Niffenegger; brothers Earl Hough and Clarence Hough.
