Ralph Leonard Reisener, 77 of Washington, died Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at Halcyon House in Washington.
Funeral Services have been set for 1:30 P.M. Saturday, August 28, 2004 at the United Methodist Church in Washington. Burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will begin Friday at Noon at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with family receiving friends from 6-8:00 P.M. in the evening. Memorials may be given in the name of Ralph Reisener to the American Heart Association.
Ralph was born July 16, 1927 in Chapman, Nebraska the son of Hugo George and Sylvia (Hopkins) Reisener. He graduated from Chapman High School. On April 3, 1949 he was united in marriage to Betty Jean Thompson at the Columbus Junction Methodist Church.
Ralph was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church and the morning Optimist Club. Ralph and Jean moved to Washington in 1960. He was a lineman for Iowa Southern Utilities for thirty-one years and drove for the Mini-bus. He served stateside in the U.S. Army after WWII.
Survivors include, son James “Jim” Reisener and wife Colleen of Indianola, IA; three daughters, Patricia Reisener and husband John Maxwell of Donahue, IA, Barbara Willman and husband Randy of Albuquerque, NM and Karen Vaughn and husband Doug of Kernersville, NC; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jean, December 20, 2002, three brothers Delmar, Eldon and Ira; two sisters Luella Grambau and Ruth Grimmett.
