Peggy Young

A celebration of life for Peggy Louise Young, 52 of Keota,will be held Friday, May 31, 2013 at 4:00PM at the First Baptist Church in Washington with Pastor Darryl Carr officiating.  The body will be cremated following the service.  Visitation will be held Friday from 1-3PM at the First Baptist Church in Washington.  A general memorial fund has been established.  Peggy Young died Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at her home.  Arrangements are being handled by the Beatty Funeral Home.

Peggy Louise (Smith) Young was born June 19, 1960 in Burlington, Iowa the daughter of Walter and Mary Ann (Salts) Mohike.  She graduated from Washington High School.  While living in Washington state she worked at PetCo as a sales clerk.  Peggy returned to Iowa in 2007.  She enjoyed her pets, spending time with her grandkids, shopping, puzzles and listening to country music.

Survivors include four sons; John (Jennifer Ree) Smith of Keota, Iowa, David Young of Iowa, Michael (Lisa) Young of Washington state, Steven Bulloch of Washington state, 10 grandchildren, her mother; Mary Ann Smith of Washington, Iowa, her father; Walter Mohike of Burlington, Iowa, three brothers; Roger Smith of Brighton, Iowa, Scott Mohike, Mike Belknat, five sisters; Sue Ann Smith, Helen Smith and Frances (Jess) Williams all of Washington, Iowa, Anita Smith and Pam Mohike and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Peggy in death were her grandparents and a great nephew; Dillion McKay.
