A celebration of life for Pauline Coberley, 91 of Wayland will be held Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 11:00AM at the Independent Bible Church in Wayland with Pastor Robert Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow at the Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery in Winfield. Visitation will be held from 9:00AM until service time on Saturday. A memorial fund has been established for the Independent Bible Church. Pauline Coberley died Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the Parkview Home in Wayland.
Pauline Coberley was born February 8, 1920 in Winfield, Iowa the daughter of Ellis and Florence (McCleary) Kongable. She graduated from Winfield High School and attained her bachelor's degree from Iowa Wesleyan College. On June 18, 1946 she was united in marraige to Hobert Dale Coberley at the Winfield United Presbyterian Church. Pauline taught school for 25 years in various rural schools, including White Oak, Oak Grove, Pleasant Lawn and Mt. Union. She was a member of the Independent Bible Church where she was very active and served in many ways. Pauline enjoyed quilting and spending time reading to residents at the Parkview Home.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis (Shirley) Coberley of Wayland, IA, Gary (Renee) Coberley of Ottumwa, IA, seven grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, one brother, Robert Kongable of Rhome, TX, five sisters, Evalyn Bock of Wayland, IA, June Martin of Mt. Pleasant, IA, Corene (Howard) McMillen of Clinton, TN, Eleanor Schneider of Wapello, IA, and Vergene (Don) Lathrum of Gardner, KS.
Preceding Pauline in death were her parents, her husband Hobert in 1974, two brothers, Arnold and Denzell Kongable, two sisters, Lucille Wilhite and Doris Hoy and one great grandson, Jonathan Coberley.
