Paul Martin, 88 of Tucson, Az formally of Washington, died Wednesday, August 1, 2012 in Tucson.
A memorial service has been set for 2:00 PM Sunday, September 23, 2012 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Crawforsville Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post #29. Please make donations to Alzheimers Association in Paul's name in lieu of flowers. Paul was born August 4, 1923 in Richland, Iowa the son of Clayton and Mae (Farrier) Martin. He graduated from Brighton High School and then served in the United States Army during WWII in the European Theater. He was united in marriage to Wilma E. Messenger on February 10, 1949 in Washington, Iowa.
He owned and operated Martin Auto and Marine repair. He moved to the Tucson area recently to be with his daughter.
Survivors include four children, John Morrison and wife Kathy of Letts, IA, Evelyn Zahn and husband Mark of Washington, IA and Rhonda Plant and husband Jeff of Tucson, AZ and Randy Martin of Washington, IA; brother Robert Martin of Brighton, IA; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Wilma, daughter Nancy Wagenknecht, brother Charles, sisters Ida Long and Wanda Derby
