Patricia Unternahrer, 66 of Wayland, died February 12, 2007 at her home north of Wayland following declining health.
Memorial Services will be held 4:00 P.M. Thursday, February 15, 2007 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Don Coffin officiating. Private family graveside services will be held prior to the service and visitation at the Sugar Creek Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Thursday at the Funeral Home with family receiving friends two hours prior to the service. Memorials in the name of Patricia Unternahrer may be designated to the Cedar Creek Friends Church.
Patricia was born February 12, 1941 in Henry Co. Iowa the daughter of Amos and Lorene (Nebel) Graber. She attended Douglas Country School and graduated salutatorian of the Wayland High School in 1959. She was united in marriage to Harold Unternahrer on June 19, 1959.
She attended Cedar Creek Friends Church in Rural Salem, IA. Patricia worked at the Box Plant and Northrup King in Washington, the Parkview Home and Yoder Hatchery in Wayland, the YMCA Daycare in Washington and most recently at the Parkview Home as Head Cook.
Patricia enjoyed teaching Sunday School and Bible School over the years and having family gathering at her home. She also enjoyed sewing and making quilts for her family.
Survivors include her husband Harold of Wayland, sons, Chris Unternahrer and wife Deb of Wayland and Carl Unternahrer and wife Jenny R. of Wayland, daughter Shirley Hinh and husband Hai of Wayland; sisters, Annabelle Unternahrer and husband Dan of Shipshewana, In, Zelda Farmer and husband Francis of Ft. Dodge, IA; brother Tony Graber and wife Sharon of Denver, IA; stepbrother Kenny Meyer and wife Connie of Wayland and stepsister Donna Bertsch of AZ; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother John Lamar and sister Suzanna Lou, both died in infancy.
