Patricia M. (Bohr) Allen, 90, died Sunday, September 27, 2020, at her home in Kalona. A private graveside service will be held Friday, October 2, 2020, at 2:00 PM at the Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona, and will be livestreamed on the Beatty Peterseim Facebook page. A memorial fund has been established for Lending Hands and the Bunker Mill Bridge.

Patricia Margaret (Bohr) Allen was born October 27, 1929, in Avoca, MN, the daughter of Nicholas Conrad and Charlotte (Vandement) Bohr. She graduated from Princeton High School in Princeton, MO, where she was a drum majorette. On August 27, 1954 she was united in marriage to George Allen in Iowa City. Pat worked as a lab technician at Proctor and Gamble for 40 years. In retirement she was a clerk at Westside Petro in Kalona. Pat was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She enjoyed softball, bowling, playing board games, playing cards, and spending time with her sisters. Her true life’s dedication was to her family; her son and daughter-in-law and grandchildren, that she spent time with daily.

Survivors include her son Scott (Denise) Allen of Kalona, four grandchildren: Tinisha (Juwan) Hughes, Christian Allen, and Joshua Allen all of Des Moines, and Julia Allen of Kalona, and close friend Gertie Chupp of Kalona.

Preceding Pat in death were her parents, her husband George in 1989, nine siblings: Mildred Wornson, Marvin “Bud” Bohr, Dorvin “Kelly” Bohr, Ellen Reber, Vivian Fleming, Lydia Brown, Lorene Meinke, Joseph Bohr and Dolorosa Wagamon.
