Funeral Mass: Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009 1:30 PM Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Richmond, IA Visitation: Saturday, Dec. 19 2-7 PM, Peterseim Funeral Home Forester's Rosary 4:00 PM IN LIEU OF FLOWERS OPAL REQUESTED MEMORIALS BE DIRECTED TO HOSPICE OF WASHINGTON COUNTY OR HOLY TRINITY CHURCH. Opal Marie Bain TeBockhorst was born in Wayland, IA, the daughter of Albert and Ela Kinney Bain. On November 16, 1940 Opal and Urban TeBockhorst were united in marriage. The couple lived and farmed in the Richmond community all their married life. They were owners and operators of Goober's Tap in Richmond for many years. Opal enjoyed life and her grandchildren were the highlight of her life. She also was a avid card player. Loved Hawkeye sports and was an outstanding cook and baker. Surviving Opal are three children, Jane Smutz of Richmond, Joe and Gwen TeBockhorst of West Chester and James and Diane TeBockhorst of Kalona. 13 grandchildren survive, 7 grandsons listed as casket bearers and 6 granddaughters: Erin TeBockhorst, Tiffany TeBockhorst, Tabith Hahn, Casey Peck, Megan Fuglsang and Kelsey TeBockhorst. Also surviving are 8 great grandchildren and a foster sister, Oleta Keifer of Washington. Preceding Opal in death were her parents, her husband Urban(2/2/95) a son Jack(12/7/94) a great grandson. Jakob Peck and four sisters: Lillian Rich, Gladys Norton, Lucille Billingsly and Lilah Boese. Opal's family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for all who have been a part of Opal's life and the love shown them at this sorrowful time.
