Norma Miller

Norma Z. Miller, 82 of Washington, died Thursday, May 31, 2007 at the Washington County Hospital and Clinics.

Funeral Services have been set for 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 4, 2007 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Julie Poulsen of the United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin Noon Sunday at the Beatty Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 5-8:00 P.M. in the evening. A general memorial in the name of Norma Z. Miller has been established.

Norma was born January 24, 1925 in Newton Mississippi, the daughter of Tony L. and Ola B. (Crabtree) Munn. On March 26, 1945 she was united in marriage to Raymond J. Miller in Fairfield, IA.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Washington. She was employed with the City of Washington, owned and operated the West End Grocery and also did cleaning for the church and banks. She enjoyed fishing, helping with both girl and boy scouts and little league. Most of all she enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include five sons Raymond J. Miller and wife Linda of Big Foot, TX, John L. Miller and wife Linda of Corydon, IA, Terry L. Miller and wife Nancy of Spirit Lake, IA, Roger Miller of Washington and Ralph L. Miller and wife Cathy of Sunrise Beach, MO; two daughters, Norma Jean Stout and husband Kenneth of Sunrise Beach, Mo and Kathy Ann Childs and husband Pat of Kalona, IA,; brother Tony Munn of Galena, IL, twenty-four grandchildren and forty-four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond, brother Billy Munn and sisters Delia Stokley and Nancy Maybry.
