Norma Leichty

Norma Anna Leichty, 71 of Crawfordsville, died Wednesday, July 06, 2005 at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington.

Funeral Services have been set for 10:30 A.M. Saturday, July 9, 2005 at the Faith Christian Outreach Church in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Monte Knudson officiating. Burial will be in the Crawfordsville Cemetery. Visitation will begin at Noon Friday at the Church with family receiving friends from 5:30 till 8:00 P.M. A memorial in the name of Norma A. Leichty has been established. Beatty Funeral Home of Washington is assisting with arrangements.

Mrs. Leichty was born September 23, 1933 near Crawfordsville, Iowa the daughter of Noah G. and Katherine Freda (Rapp) Widmer. She attended Stringtown School and graduated from Wayland High School. She was united in marriage to Calvin Leichty September 20, 1953 at the Bethel Mennonite Church.

Norma was a faithful and active member of Faith Christian Outreach Church in Mt. Pleasant. In her early years she was employed at the Washington State Bank and Wayland Lumber Co. and following the birth of her children decided to stay at home. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, baking, sewing and music, with a special interest in piano, organ and the accordion. Her greatest joy came from time spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Survivors include her husband Calvin of Crawfordsville, children Dwayne Leichty and wife Heather of Mt. Pleasant, Lyndon Leichty and wife Elaine of Mt. Pleasant and Monica Holmes and husband Monte of Goshen, IN; twelve grandchildren and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
