Olivet Cemetery Riverside, Iowa Mildred Ida Schnoebelen Thomann was born in Riverside, the daughter of Richard and Ida Gerot Schnoebelen. She graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School in 1941 in Riverside. Mildred and Bernard "Bud" Thomann were united in marriage in St. Mary's Church on January 3, 1945. The couple lived and farmed in the community all their married life. Mildred was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed cooking, hard work, gardening, flowers and crocheting. St. Mary's Church, where she was a life long member, was very important in her life. Mildred is survived by her husband of 63 years, Bernard, eight children: Larry and Tina Thomann of Riverside, Gary and Linda Kron of Ainsworth, Ross and Jane Thomann of Columbus Junction, Alan and Linda Thomann of Riverside, Janet and Perry Nicholson of Ainsworth, Greg and Janice Thomann of Riverside,Dean and Sue Thomann of Riverside, Kirk and Teri Thomann of Riverside, and son-in-law, Mike Welsh of Riverside, 25 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and their wives, Paul and Marge Schnoebelen and Ralph and Jan Schnoebelen, all of Riverside. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Ruth Welsh, three brothers, Leroy, Lester, and Russell Schnoebelen and two sisters, Theresa Schnoebelen and Marie Deutsch. A memorial in Mildred's honor has been established for St. Mary's Church, Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center or Iowa City Hospice. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for all the many kindnesses bestowed upon them at this time of loss and during Mildred's illness. God Bless each of you.
