A Mass of Christian Burial for Mildred A. "Millie" Ollinger, 82, of Coralville, will be held Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Richmond with Father Wallace Helms officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Keota.  Visitation will be held Friday, November 23 from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona, with a Prayer Service at 7:30PM.  A general memorial fund has been established.  Millie Ollinger died Sunday, November 18 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a brief illness.

Mildred Adeline (Duwa) Ollinger was born April 6, 1930 in rural Kalona, Iowa the daughter of William and V. Fern (Haller) Duwa.  She attended Holy Trinity Catholic School and on October 4, 1949 she was united in marriage to Leo Ollinger.  Millie owned and operated Diamond Mil's in Coralville from 1972 a�" 1990 and was a cook at the Johnson County Jail from 1984 a�" 1997.  She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Iowa City.  Millie enjoyed making quilts, embroidering, watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball, gardening, baking and cooking.  She loved Iowa Wrestling, family get-togethers and made many wedding and birthday cakes for family and friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna (Vic) Zender of West Branch, Audrey Ollinger O'Hara of West Branch, three sons, John (Mary) Ollinger of Keota, Nick (Tami) Ollinger of Kalona, Gus Ollinger of Iowa City, one son in law, Jerry (Pat) Strabala of Washington, 10 grandchildren, 4  great grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Trilly.

Preceding Millie in death were her parents, her husband Leo in 1998, two daughters, Pamela Strabala and Paula Ollinger, two sons, Samuel and William Ollinger, two brothers, Wayne and Donald Duwa, one sister, Velda Chalupa, and one grandson, Steven Strabala.
