Mildred R. Hill, 91 of Fairfield, formally of Washington, died Sunday, July 29, 2012 at Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield following a short illness.
Funeral Services have been set for 10:30 AM Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the First Lutheran Church in Fairfield with Pastor Stacy Grau officiating. Burial Will follow in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be begin at Noon Wednesday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with family present from 6-8:00 PM. A memorial in the name of Mildred Hill has been established to Sunnybrook Assisted Living or the Alzheimer's Association.
Mildred was born January 14, 1921 north of Lockridge, IA the daughter of Charles John and Margaret (Pohren) Graf. She was united in marriage to Max Dillion Hill on February 28, 1942 in Kahoka, MO.
She was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Fairfield and the VFW Auxiliary. She was a homemaker and also was employed at Places Dime Store, Harrison's Dime Store and Andes Candy Store. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, collecting porcelain dolls and watching Cardinal baseball.
Survivors include sons, Walter Hill (Mary) of Birmingham, IA, Larry Hill (Norma) of Fairfield and Keith Hill (Diana) of Brighton, IA; daughter Donna Greiner (Kenneth) of Brighton, IA; Eleven grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Max on January 5, 2004, four brothers, Lester, Harlan, Roy and Glenn, two sisters Edith Diers and Marie Vohies and two great-grandchildren.
Organist is Norma Robinson, Soloist is Janet Hunerdosse.
Pallbearers are Jim Hill, Bill Hill, Scott Greiner, Lonnie Greiner, Dale Ingwersen and Jeff Ingwersen.
Honorary Pallbearers are Stanley Vorhies, Everret Diers, Glenn Graf, Robert Graf, Tony Baker and Thomas W. Ross.
