Mildred Louise Freyenberger, 82 of Wayland died Sunday, August 22, 2004 at the Parkview Home in Wayland.
Funeral Services have been set for 10:30 A.M. Thursday, August 26, 2004 at the Eicher Mennonite Church northeast of Wayland with Pastor Herb Yoder officiating. Burial will be in the Eicher Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-8:00 P.M. at the Eicher Mennonite Church with family receiving friends from 2-4:00 P.M. and 6-8:00 P.M. Beatty Funeral Home in Wayland has been entrusted with the arrangements. Memorials in the name of Mildred Freyenberger have been established to the Crowded Closet, Parkview Home, Gideon’s or Hospice of Washington Co.
Mildred was born March 24, 1922 in Washington, IA the daughter of Homer and Jennie (Carr) Kephart. She graduated from Washington High School. Following graduation Mildred worked at the Iowa City Airport, the Court House in Washington and several other places prior to her marriage to Robert Freyenberger April 25, 1946 at her parent’s home.
Mildred was baptized at the Pleasant Hill Christian Church and later joined the Eicher Mennonite Church where she typed the church bulletins for many years and took part in many activities. Mildred and her husband belonged to the Gideon’s. She was also a member of CROP where she served as secretary. She enjoyed family and fresh flowers.
Survivors include her husband Robert of Wayland, two sons, Ron Freyenberger and wife Ruth of Middlebury, IN and Steve Freyenberger and wife Sue of Wayland; two daughters, Kathleen Kennel and husband Phil of Jonesboro, GA and June Freyenberger of Coralville, IA; brother Laurence Kephart and wife Earleen of San Antonio, TX; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
