Mike Karr

Service: Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008 1:30 pm at Peterseim Funeral Home Visitation: Monday 6-8 at the funeral home. Burial Sharon Hill Cemetery Michael "Mike" Lee Karr was born in Washington, IA, the son of Wayne and Mary Kathryn Hochstedler Karr. He graduated from West Branch High School. He served in the US Army. Mike had been employed at the Veterans Administration Medical Center for 36 years in housekeeping. He retired due to health concerns. Mike enjoyed fishing,hunting and loved dogs. Mike was married to Cindy Roe. The couple later divorced. Mike is survived by two children, Shelby Karr of Iowa City and Doug Karr of Coralville. Also surviving are three sisters, Susan Halversen of North Liberty, Dian and husband Mike Primm of Spokane, WA, Dana and husband John Vasquez of Des Moines, two brothers, Danny Karr of West Branch and Brian Karr of Iowa City, two aunts, Marge Strabala and Dorothy Yotty both of Kalona and a number of nieces and nephews and cousins. Mike was preceded in death by both parents. A memorial has been established for family use. Mike's family wishes to express their gratitude for the many acts of kindness shown them during this time of loss.
