Melvin A. Yoder

Melvin A. Yoder, 85 died Sunday, January 8, 2023 at his home in rural Kalona, surrounded by his family. Visitation will be held all day Wednesday January 11 and Thursday January 12 at the Tobias Yoder home: 5795 James Avenue, SW, Kalona. A funeral service will be held Friday January 13 at 9:30 AM at the Tobias Yoder home. Burial will follow at the Peter Miller Cemetery.

Melvin A. Yoder was born October 17, 1937 in Thomas, OK, the son of Amos and Edna (Yoder) Yoder. He was united in marriage to Lizzie Mast, September 15, 1959 in Kalona.

He is survived by his wife Lizzie, Kalona, eight children, Loren (Lois) Yoder, Riverside, Loretta (Norman Jay) Miller, Kalona, Kathryn (Alvin) Beachy, Kalona, Karen (Milford) Miller, Monroe, WI, Kaylene (David) Kauffman, Kalona, Darla at home, David Lee (Nelda), Kalona, and Delmar (Karen) Yoder, Fremont, MI; sister Mary Susan (Simon) Yoder, Frytown; fifty-four grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by infant twin daughters, three grandchildren, Nancy Arlene Yoder, Myron Lynn Miller and Heidi Kauffman
