Celebration of life services for Mary K. Leedy, 54, are Monday, at 10:30 am, Dec.7, 2015 at the Shiloh Church, rural Kalona. Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 6 at the Peterseim Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Burial will be in the Nutmeg Cemetery, rural Kalona.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund for the family has been established. Mary K. Leedy died Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.
Mary Kathryn Leedy was born May, 1, 1961 in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Rueben and Mamie (Miller) Nisly. On April 8, 1984, she was united in marriage to John Leedy at Shiloh. Mary had been a certified nurse’s assistant at Pleasantview Home before health issues removed her from the work force.
Mary was an active member of Shiloh and enjoyed gardening, flowers, sewing, reading, cooking and most importantly, her family.
Mary is survived by her husband, John of Kalona; three children: Nicholas Leedy of Indianapolis, IN, Michael and Kristina Leedy both of Kalona. Also surviving are her mother, Mamie Nisly of Kalona, four brothers, John of Davenport, Simon, Philip and James of Kalona, and a sister, Miriam Hilton, Vancouver, WA.
Mary was preceded in death by her father, and a sister, Sarah Eicher.
