Funeral mass for 84-year-old Mary Jo (Driscoll) Wade will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 10:30AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Richmond with Father Rich Adam officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM, Tuesday, November 3, at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona, with a prayer service at 7PM. A memorial fund has been established for the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center. Mary Jo Wade died Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a brief illness. Mary Jo was born June 11, 1925 in Williamsburg, IA, the daughter of Daniel M. and Josephine (Kelly) Driscoll. She graduated from Williamsburg High School and attended Ottumwa Heights College. On November 4, 1947 she was united in marriage to Gerald Wade in Williamsburg, IA. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and volunteered at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Iowa City for the last 15 years. She enjoyed watching her son and grandsons play baseball at Mid Prairie, watching the New York Yankees and listening to country music. Survivors include two sons, Lawrence (Bing) Wade of the Philippines, Kenneth (Becky) Wade of Altoona, IA, three daughters, Margaret Driscol of Kalona, IA, Barbara Wade of Iowa City, IA, Denise (Brad) Searson of West Branch, IA, 12 grandchildren, Marichu Scott, Lila Avellano, Jeff, Shawn, Courtney and Chris Driscol, Natalie Ford, Lindsey Wade, Jessica, Lauren, Matthew and Sam Wade, two great grandchildren, Ethan and Logan Driscol, a brother-in-law, Max Wade of North English and a sister-in-law, Hilda Driscoll of Williamsburg, IA and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Mary Jo in death were her parents, husband Gerald on April 27, 2994, one daughter, Beverly Wade on June 20, 1975, a son-in-law, David Driscol on July 28, 2005, 9 brothers, Vernard, Paul, Vincent, Jimmy, Donald, Leroy, Elmer, Albert and Henry Driscoll and one sister, Bertilla Hogendorn, and 12 half brothers and sisters.
