Marsha E. Patterson, 79, of West Chester, passed from this life on Monday, February 5, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospital, surrounded by her family. Per her wishes, she has been cremated and a private family graveside service for her and her husband Frank, who passed on November 25, 2023, will be held March 2, 2024, at the West Chester Cemetery. The family will greet friends for a time of celebrating Frank and Marsha’s life at the West Chester Heritage School on March 2, from 2 – 5 PM. A memorial fund has been established for the West Chester Community Church. The Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Marsha Elizabeth (Blegen) Patterson was born September 9, 1944, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the daughter of Roscoe M. and Jeanetta (Dekock) Blegen. She graduated from Oskaloosa High School. On September 5, 1965, she was united in marriage to Frank Patterson in Oskaloosa. She was trained as a beautician at Bill Hill’s College of Cosmetology in Fort Madison, IA. Later in life she worked as a pharmacy technician at Walmart in Washington. She was a member of the West Chester Community Church and the Kaaba Shriners Crazy Ladies. Marsha enjoyed taking part in church activities, traveling, reading and spending time with children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her three children: Melissa Patterson of West Chester, Mark Patterson (Patches Breed) of Wilton, Michael (Nichole) Patterson of West Chester; three grandchildren: Darian, Chazlee and DeLanee Patterson; two great-grandchildren: Carter and Daelan Patterson; a sister Judy (Allen) Beaman of Arkansas; one brother-in-law Clare (Pat) Patterson of Des Moines and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Marsha in death was her husband Frank, her parents and her in-laws William and Ina Patterson.
