A celebration of life for Marjorie Elaine Yoder, 99, of Kalona will be held Friday, July 1, 2016 at 10:30 am at the Sharon Center United Methodist Church with Pastor Erling Shultz officiating. Committal and interment of her cremains will follow at the Sharon Center Cemetery. A memorial fund to Hospice or the Sharon Center United Methodist Church as been established. Marjorie Elaine Yoder died Monday, June 27, 2016 at Pleasantview Home in Kalona.
Marjorie was born March 6, 1917 at home near Kalona, Iowa the daughter of W.L. (Will) and Faith (Means) Snider. She was united in marriage to Glen Yoder in Dubuque, Iowa on February, 24, 1939.
She was a member of the Sharon Center United Methodist Church and Eastern Star and was employed at Sharon Grocery and the Sharon Center Telephone Co in her early years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening, traveling in the motorhome and canoe trips with the Yoder family.
Survivors include sons Dale Yoder and wife Sandy of Maquoketa, IA and Dean Yoder of Sharon Center, IA; 7 grandchidren, Jennifer Schurbon, Jay Yoder, David Yoder, Ben Yoder, Joshua Yoder, Sarah Parker and Amy Yoder; 11 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband and brother Donald.
