Marjorie Snyder

A celebration of life for Marjorie M. Snyder, 84 of Kalona, will be held Monday, February 25, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Richmond with Father David Brownfield officiating. Burial will follow at the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 24 from 4-7PM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona with a rosary being said at 7:00PM. A memorial fund has been established for the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and St. Jude Children's Hospital.

Marjorie Marie Snyder was born May 30, 1928 in Washington County the daughter of Harold and Sarah (Dawson) Stumpf. She graduated from Kalona High School in 1946. She was united in marriage to Melvin Snyder on November 11, 1951. The couple later divorced. Marjorie worked at CIVCO in Kalona from 1994 until 2010. She enjoyed baking, flowers, crotcheting, walking on the treadmill, and watching cooking shows and golf on tv.

Survivors include two children; Teresa "Terri" and husband Bob Duwa of Washington, Iowa, Michael and wife Anna Snyder of Hammonton, New Jersey, one son in law, Greg Marshall of Vandalia, Ohio, four grandchildren, Kyle Marshall, Phil Duwa, Kayla Duwa and Alex Marshall, one great granddaughter; Kayleigh Marshall, three sisters; Marilyn Charbanneaux of Sacramento, California, Jane Cannon of Portland, Oregon, Joanne and husband Dayle Chalupa of Kalona, and two sisters-in-law, Sharon Stumpf of Kalona and Joan Stumpf of Tacoma, Washington.

Preceding Marjorie in death were her daughter, Tina Marshall and three brothers; Tom, Arlis, and Jim Stumpf.
