Marjorie “Marge” L. Schrock, 78, of Washington, passed from this life on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at the United Presbyterian Home in Washington. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 23, 2023, at St. James Catholic Church in Washington. Burial will follow at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be held Friday, December 22, 2023, from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM at St. James Catholic Church in Washington, where a Rosary will be recited at 1:30 PM. A memorial fund has been established for the St. James Catholic School. The Beatty Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Marjorie Louise (Lukavsky) Schrock was born January 15, 1945, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Edwin and Anna (Harbit) Lukavsky. She graduated from Washington High School. Marge worked at Washington Plumbing, Pacemaker Buildings and was a cook at Lincoln Elementary School. On July 22, 1977, she was united in marriage to Devon Schrock at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Marge was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters and served on the Earthly Blessings Board. She enjoyed playing card games, shopping, cooking, and reading, but more than anything she loved spending time with her grandchildren who meant the world to her.
Survivors include her husband Devon of Washington; five children: son Tony Mineart of Dyersville, IA, daughter Tina (Tim) Hill of Washington and their two children: Jessica (Austin) Anderson and their three children: Aaden, Addelyn and Acre, Zach (BreAnna) Hill and their son Grayson, son Tim (Jamie) Schrock of Washington, and their five children: Lane, Mia, Nathan, Ellie, and Austin; daughter Theresa (Todd) Walton of Denver, IA, and their three children: Mason, Cy and Lizzie, and son Thomas Schrock of Washington. Also surviving are five siblings: Helen Kurtz of Galena, IL, Shirley McGraw of St. Louis, MO, Bob (Janet) Lukavsky of Lavern, CA, Joyce (Paul) Scranton of Ankeny, IA, and Dennis (Diane) Lukavsky of Clive, IA.
Preceding Marge in death were her parents, two brothers: Donald (Barb) Lukavsky and Kenny Lukavsky and one sister Ruth Barnhardt (Mario Salazar).
