Celebration of Life: Saturday, July 3, 2010 10:30 AM Kalona United Methodist Church 302 4th St., Kalona Visitation: Friday, July 2, 2010 Peterseim Funeral Home 201 B Ave, Kalona Burial: Sharon Hill Cemetery, Kalona General Memorial Fund       Funeral services for Marie E. Snyder, 90, of Atrium Village, Hills, IA, formally of Kalona, will be held Saturday, July 3, 2010 at 10:30 AM at the Kalona United Methodist Church, Kalona, IA, with Pastor Gerry Kahler officiating.  Burial will follow at the Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona.  Visitation will be held Friday, July 2 from 4-7 PM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. Marie died Tuesday, June 29 at Atrium Village in Hills following a lengthy illness. A general memorial fund has been established.   Marie was born May  in Burr Oak, IA, the daughter of Claude and Olive (Olson) Wicks.  She graduated from Burr Oak High School. On June 9, 1940 she was united in marriage to Paul Snyder in Muscatine, IA.  Marie was a member of the Kalona United Methodist Church and had volunteered at the Pleasantview Home in Kalona for many years.  Marie's life centered around her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed collecting antiques with her husband, Paul.   She is survived by her children and their spouses, Marjorie Garlow of Iowa City, Gary (Joan) Snyder of Iowa City, Eldon (Mary) Snyder of Iowa City, six grandchildren: Christine Schomberg of Iowa City, Sherri (Michael Glackin) Schomberg of Iowa City, Lori Schomberg of Irving, TX, Derek Snyder of Iowa City, IA, Emily (Verland Pierson) Snyder of Las Vegas, NV, Patrick (Megan) Snyder of Iowa City, three great grandchildren, Emma Jean and Hailey Elizabeth Glackin, Harry Pierson, one brother, Marvin (Virginia) Wicks of Harmony, MN, two sisters-in-law, Glorianne Wicks of Decorah, IA, and Joan Wicks of Cresco, IA.   Preceding Marie in death were her parents, husband Paul, son-in-law James Garlow and three brothers, Leonard, Marion and Harley Wicks.
